| Perhaps the most dynamic playmaker in this draft, Harvin is forgoing his senior year to turn pro. National champion Florida lined Harvin up at wide receiver, running back and even quarterback, finding ways to utilize his big-play ability as much as possible. Had 40 receptions for 644 yards and seven TDs while running for 660 yards and 10 scores this past season. Finished his career with 133 receptions for 1,929 yards and 13 TDs, and 194 carries for 1,852 yards and 19 scores. Averaged 9.5 yards per carry and 11.6 yards every time he got the ball. Was at his best in big games. Earned MVP honors in the 2006 SEC championship game, catching six passes for 105 yards and a TD, and running for 62 yards and another score. Totaled 171 yards and a TD in the Gators' 24-14 victory over Oklahoma in the Bowl Championship Series national title game Jan. 8. Because he played so many positions, Harvin's development as a wide receiver may have been hampered. Will need to work on his route running. But his speed, elusiveness and versatility will make him an immediate threat in the NFL. The biggest concern with Harvin is his durability, an issue that could keep him from being a top 10 pick. Missed five games in three years and was limited in several more due to hamstring and ankle injuries, a stress fracture and migraines. Still, Harvin won't have to wait long to be selected on draft day. |
