Olsavsky rejoins Steelers as quality control coach

PITTSBURGH (AP) Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Jerry Olsavsky is rejoining the team as a defensive quality control coach.

Olsavsky succeeds Lou Spanos, who left the Steelers after 16 seasons to become the Washington Redskins' linebackers coach.

Olsavsky was one of the nation's leading tacklers as a linebacker at Pitt before being drafted by the Steelers on the 10th round in 1989. He became one of the NFL's top special teams players while playing for Pittsburgh through 1997, then finished his career with Baltimore in 1998. (MORE)
